My name is Aimee Anderson, and I am the founder of AimPAH! Educational Interpreter Mentorship and Training Services. To learn more about my background and experience, please visit the BIO section of our website.

I’m thrilled to announce our partnership with MyASLschool to create a dynamic space for learning, professional development, and community engagement. Beginning this summer, we will be offering a range of mentorship and skill-building classes designed to support interpreters at all stages of their careers.

Our professional development cycle programs each include:

·  A series of 9 focused classes

·  One-on-one mentorship

·  Fieldwork experience with mentor observation and feedback

·  Review and analysis of GoReact product feedback (GoReact account required)

·  Additional support modules

·  Opportunities for mentor/peer collaboration and engagement

·  EIPA performance/written preparation

·  1.6 ps CEUs

* Tuesdays  5 to 7PM – PST/EST- 2 classes are offered with 1 hour lab time between 2 hr classes- content is same for each class.-    8 weeks per cycle    *9th class OPTIONAL (can be used to make up class)


SUMMER CYCLE ORIENTATION- JUNE 19TH, 2025 ZOOM  4P-530P PST  

Summer Cycle- July 1st - August 19th, 2025, OPT CLASS 9- AUG 26TH

  Class Times: 5 to 7P PST/ LAB- 4-5PM PST

               5 to 7P EST/ LAB- 7-8PM EST


Role Focus- Tutor

EIPA skill development- EXPRESSIVE-ELEMENTARY/ RECEPTIVE-SECONDARY

The AimPAH! Summer cycle presents content and education on the role in the educational setting as tutors. Focus topics will include research and study of state educational content standards, lesson plans, educational discourse, early childhood education, stages of development, and whole child/universal curriculum designs. Mentees will research their own state’s educational content standards and engage in discussions on strategies to engage DHH students. Mentees will learn “Literacy Walks” and tutoring models.


MODULES:

JULY- 10TH  - 7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST – Aimee Anderson- State Standards review

JULY 16TH - 7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST -Christy Conquy- - Language acquisition through picture books

AUGUST 7TH - 7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST – Christy Conquy- Turning your lesson plan into an interpreting plan


EIPA focus skill stimulus to include Expressive- Elementary/ Receptive -Secondary

Expressive product analytic model instruction- goal and objective development, text analysis, discourse mapping, GISH model.

Receptive product analytic model instruction- goal and objective development, prediction, cloze skills, English transcription, ASL gloss.

FALL CYCLE ORIENTATION- SEPTEMBER 16TH - 430-6PM PST.  

Fall Cycle- September 23rd - November 12th - OPT CLASS 9 – November 19th  


Role Focus- Interpreter

EIPA skill development- EXPRESSIVE-SECONDARY/RECEPTIVE -ELEMENTARY

Goal and objective development/Revision


Mentees will learn about their role in the educational setting as interpreters. Participants will engage in professional discussions and challenges of interpreting in education. Mentees will learn about the application of DC-S (Demand-Control Schema) and will analyze different classroom environments and considerations. Visual scaffolding will be introduced and expanded work will be given to use top-down processing skills and effective use of embedded constructs. Mentees will discuss strategies of working as a related service provider and how to build and foster positive relationships as a member of the educational team.

OCTOBER 2ND -7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST – Aimee Anderson- VISUAL SCAFFOLDING

OCTOBER 23RD – 7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST – Aimee Anderson- DC-S FOR EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETERS

NOVEMBER 10TH -7-9 PM EST/ 4-6 P PST -   Aimee Anderson- CREATING PROFESSIONAL PLANS/PORTFOLIOS
